Do you photograph weddings?

No. I don't photograph weddings. But I do bridal portraits.

Do you photograph outside?

No. All my work is done in studio in Chilhowie. I work with backgrounds and strobe lights.

What do I wear to a photoshoot?

We will have an in-depth consultation about your session. A large part of this discussion is what you plan to wear. But a couple of points to keep in mind: • Avoid Prints-Solid colors work the best • Use textures – fur, lace, suede, tulle • If you are curvy, don't wear baggy clothes. I also have a subscription to Rent The Runway. It is an online closet with everything you can imagine. For a fee, you can choose items at our consultation that will be waiting for you the day of your session.

I've never had hair and makeup. What if I don't like it?

Professional hair and makeup is crucial to creating my look. I work with a professional who will see you in a new way and show you a whole new you. Every step of the way, you can look at what she is doing. If you don't like it, she will redo the whole thing. We will not take your photos until you are happy with your hair and makeup. If you prefer, you can bring in some of your own products if you have sensitive skin. It is also a good idea to show me photos of the look you are going for so I can share it with my hair and makeup artist. We want to insure you are happy with her work the day of the session.

How much does it cost?

For an in-depth consultation about your photoshoot, an hour and a half photoshoot that includes 5 different looks on different backgrounds, full hair and makeup, complete digital retouching of each image, a reveal session, and a $400 print credit (equal to the cost of one matted 5 x 7), it costs $500. You can use your print credit toward a matted 5 x 7 OR toward a package or wall art. Packages with 6 matted images in a hand-made Italian reveal box start at $1400. Wall art starts at $700 for a 12 x 18 print mounted on styrene.

Can I just get "just the digitals"?

You get digitals with every image you purchase. The digitals will be sent to you via email. With the package of 20 images, you will get color and black and white digitals. The digitals you get will be large enough for you to print what you purchased; for example if you purchased a
5 x 7, you will receive a digital that will print that size. And you are free to print as many 5 x 7's as you like. But if you want a larger print, you must get it from my studio.

What is your cancelation policy?

The $500 session is paid at the time we book your date. This is nonrefundable. If you cancel, less than 2 weeks from our booked session, you will have to pay an additional $250 to rebook. If you cancel, more than 2 weeks out, we will rebook without additional cost. Putting a photoshoot together costs time and effort. If I book you on my calendar, that means I'm not doing other business on that day. In addition, time is spend getting the studio ready just for your photoshoot. My hair and makeup artist is also blocking out her time. We are both not accepting work on that day so we may serve you. Excepts may be made if there is a serious emergency. Having this strict policy in place detracts from last minute cancellations which are very costly.

What kinds of photography do you offer?

We offer high school seniors, family portraits, headshots and personal branding, boudoir, bridal portraits and contemporary men and women's portraits. We do not photograph weddings, newborns, or events. All our sessions are in our studio.

Can I have different types of photography in one session?

Absolutely! You are getting an hour and a half session. Maybe you would like your family to come in for 15 minutes. Once they are gone, we could do some headshots for your business, then a Vanity Fair evening gown set, and finish with boudoir. It's totally up to you!

How much do you retouch?

I get rid of stray hairs and blemishes. I smooth out your skin and give it an even tone. I then do color grading. If you want me to retouch more, or not at all, we can discuss this at our consultation.

Where are you located?

We are 5 miles outside of Chilhowie VA at 583 Country Lane. We are in the mountains and have a great view!
