"I just need one photo for my headshot"

I can’t tell you how many times professionals call and say, “I just need one photograph for my headshot.” For many years, this was the norm. Professionals got one headshot every year or two and plastered the same image on their business cards, flyers, brochures, billboards, and their website. But that time has LONG past.

It is vital that you have a comprehensive library of images of yourself to pull from to keep you fresh and in front of your current clients as well as attracting new ones. A comprehensive library of images can help capture the essence of your brand. To achieve this, you need to consider carefully which images you use and how they should be used together to create a cohesive visual story about yourself and your business.

Where do your clients come from? Are they on Facebook? Instagram? Twitter? LinkedIn? You need different looks for each social media platform if you use them all. Chances are your clients are coming to you from one or two platforms. So how can you attract them? How can you be strategic with your images? The answer is certainly not with just one headshot. You and your business are multifaceted.

Whitney Pennington, The Pennington Law Firm in Abingdon, came to my studio already knowing this. She wanted to show different sides of herself to her clients. She wanted images that fit her brand and properly introduced her to potential new clients. I photographed her, not only on her brand color of dark blue, but green for spring, light blue for summer, and a darker hand-painted background for fall. We also captured different moods with other outfits and backdrops. Whitney came open for the experience and ready to create images that would continue to grow her business. She has images to use for different messages and seasons through the year.

I would love to go over the options for your personal branding photoshoot. In a consultation, we can go over what types of clients you want to attract and how you can get them. What colors are you using for your brand? What do your colors say about you? How should your Facebook profile image be different from your instagram image? Don’t worry! I got you. Give me a call and let’s set up a consultation. Call 540-878-1383 or email cindy@dreamspeedpress.com. I can’t wait to hear about your business.
